The real world is way weirder than anything out of fiction.

📚 I recommend the books by Eric Sloane. Particularly the Early American history books about wood, barns, and life in general. My favorite is Diary of an Early American Boy which contains lots of info about the life of settlers in 1805.
CIA spy Virginia Hall is about to become everyone’s next favorite historical hero Sounds like Hall was an amazing spy.
Back in the day, we used to get only blurry-cam photos of UFO’s, Bigfoot and USSR tanks. Okay so USSR aside, now that everyone is running around with a good camera, you would think we would be getting more and better UFO and Bigfoot shots. Instead nothing except selfies.

In reply to Charlie: Webrings If you are looking for something old school as a webring host try Webringo I’ve made a couple of experimental webrings there and everything works even though the site is very quiet. Good place to try out ideas. Webringo does not spam you either.
The cool thing is you can opt for good old HTML ring code and customize it if you want. Love me some HTML. Good luck!
I need to mess with the CSS on my hosted Micro.blog blog soon. I want linked text to be readily noticeable. I may go old school. Remember in the 1990’s when all links were blue? Yeah that, I don’t care what it looks like.
With phones, having the choice between only two operating systems, iOS and Android, is not a real choice. We need to get some more options and quick.
Back to privacy search engine Mojeek.com as my default for a couple of weeks as part of my ongoing tests. Normally I use DuckDuckGo, but Mojeek uses it’s own crawler which makes it very important, long term, in the search space and they are expanding their index so I want to see if I notice that. This is how search engine geeks have fun. :-)
“Video Killed the Radio Star” by Walk Off the Earth featuring Sarah Silverman I like the original but this is a good cover that brings the song back for a new generation.

Staycation over. Spent the last week not doing much except reading for pleasure. It’s been a long time since I could immerse myself in a fictional world like that and it felt kinda nice.
📚 Currently reading “White Knight”, Dresden Files #9. By Jim Butcher. These books are immersive and addictive. I think the writing and editing improve with each book.
