We are fools. We should have built the precious wall around Washington D. C. Keep all the politicians and camp followers in. Let the innocent people out and then slam the gates closed so the politicians can go all Lord of the Flies on each other on the inside.
I’m not normally into Metal music, but I just discovered, listened to the band Unleash the Archers and I’m stunned. The band is so tight and the vocals outstanding. Epic. “Awakening” www.youtube.com/watch
Here is your feel good story for the day, about a little girl who made a fairy garden and a neighbor who pretended to be a fairy.
The holiday season must be heaven for cats. They get a tree to lay under/knock over/otherwise mess with and they get all those empty Amazon boxes to nest in. Wrapping paper to lie on while the human is trying to wrap gifts. Plus leftovers.
Currently Reading: Battle Ground, Dresden Files #17 by Jim Butcher.
Pandemic Chronicles: Somehow Friday nights have become frozen pizza nights. I’m not complaining.
Somebody, please sue Ohio.
From the Prepper File: It’s come to this. DIY home haircut trimmer delivered. I’m not quite there yet, but soon. It’s made by Remington and it has it’s own vacuum/hair collection chamber. The weakest link in this mad scheme is me.
I’m thinking we need to shorten the transition period between election day and the day a new president takes power. We need to knock off about 20 to 30 days.
Corona Vaccines: the next question is, how long does the immunity last?
Several weeks later, I’m still watching reaction videos. I enjoy seeing a new generation getting blown away by The Rightous Brothers, Tom Jones, Queen. I’m (re)discovering to. Fable FrenchTastic are good. cc. @macgenie
I must have been sleeping in class, again. I see we have plugins now at Micro.blog! Anybody using them? Which ones and what do you think?
I’m glad this week is almost over. I’ve been obliged to attend meetings and run public errands, standing in lines, all week. 2 more errands today and then I can bunker down like a proper grumpy old git.
I found out last night Covid, or close calls requiring self isolation with Covid contacts, has spread through my immediate neighborhood. I’m guessing it’s via the schools. The lag in testing results isn’t helping. I hope everybody recovers 2 full health quickly.
Times I should not interact on social networks: 1. Before first cup of morning coffee, cos I’m grumpy. 2. During and after having to fix some computer/Internet fail and I’m grumpy. 3. After supper when I’m tired, doom-scrolling and grumpy. That leaves 2 hours open.
Why in the heck do I have to keep reentering my Outlook PW in my iPhone about every 3 days?
Wow. Typepad is refusing new paid signups and referring people to Bluehost! That’s just weird.
The shopper for Instacart reports no cans of corned beef hash of any brand at store. Sent photo of shelves which are really bare. Switching to Yellow Alert.
What worries me about starting a new blog on Wordpress is will they abandon the classic editor and force the block editor on everyone? I’d hate that.
Everyone else is having deep thoughts about the future with Biden.
Me: “I wonder what happens to all the 55 gallon drums of spray tan stored in the White House garage?”
I’ve just been scrolling my Twitter feed and watching video clips of people cheering, banging pots from rooftops, honking horns in celebration in Manhatten, Brooklyn, Seattle, and some unnamed city in Canada. Street dancing in D. C. And church bells ringing in Paris!
Update: I’m out of oatmeal cranberry cookies. They weren’t all that good but I’ve run out. Also, out of store brand Oreos.
STOP THE COOKIE TRUCK!
I think I found a new author to try out: Stuart Dybek: bungee jumping through the trapdoors of time #Chicago #Midwest #books
I baked a pumpkin pie yesterday. It was the premade frozen kind so all I had to do was bake it per instructions. It went pretty well: no smoke alarms, no fires, no me cussing, no 911 calls. And the slice of pie I had last night was pretty good. Yea!
