It appears many Center-Left people are also buying guns. I don’t think this is isolated either. I think everybody needs to take a step back and think this through. The politicians, Right and Left, want you to be afraid: it makes you easier to manipulate.
It’s darn hard to design a town center when nobody knows what the heck retail is going to look like in the future. And that was pre-Covid 19.
I see fake wood trim is back for upper end car interiors. It does look a bit better than the fake wood trim we had in the 1960’s and ‘70’s but honestly, more leg room and head room is much more important.
Got a car that has Apple Carplay for the first time. I still have to connect. If this will give me access to Apple Maps on the head unit screen that will be so cool. I hope so.
Anyone have any Carplay tips?
If we tear down all the statues where will the pigeons go? #lossofhabitat
Also this: Vivaldi Browser Now Has a Cool Built-in Arcade Game In case you needed an excuse to try Vivaldi. :-)
I totally missed this when it came out: The Vivaldi Browser Now Has a Built in, Er, Word Processor?! I like this:
Notes support the Markdown syntax and can automatically attach screenshots and the address of the web page being viewed added to a note
I just got my copper phone case I bought from Aeris Copper for my iPhone. Copper kills germs including Covid-19. Takes a few hours for copper to kill C19, but that is better than nothing. I like it. 1. It’s less slippery than my plastic case, 2. wireless charger worked.
I early voted this afternoon. I’m glad I got that done.
I don’t think it’s up to Trump or any sitting president to decide who wins the election. The States ultimately declare the results. The President has no power to decide unless he files suit in Federal courts.
He’s right, … It is the technology that’s to blame. Same with IoT, my toaster and fridge don’t need to connect to the Internet. And I’m pretty convinced keyless cars are an attempt to fix something that wasn’t broke to begin with.
I think the next presidential debate should be moderated by a retired USMC Drill Instructor, “On the ground and give me 20, maggot!”
Credit card due to expire. Get replacement in mail. Go online to activate per instuctions. Fill out forms to confirm reciept of card. Sends me to registration sign up for an account to manage my card online without confirming my card is activated. I don’t want an account. I don’t want another username or password. I don’t want to get a bunch of emails from you either because I created an account. An account is just another vulnerable point where some hacker might get in. I just want to use my credit card. If I want to “manage my account” I’ll jolly well call the 800 telephone number.
So didn’t set up an account, I just closed the window. I guess I’ll eventually find out if the card is active of not if I get a you haven’t activated your card notice.
Crickey just activate the damn card.
Early voting starts here on Oct. 6th. Shortly thereafter I shall vote. I’m not voting by mail because I don’t trust Trump, the Republicans in Washington, the Republicans downstate, the Courts or the Post Office won’t find some evil and dastardly way to get postal votes thrown out, particularly in a tight race. Trust no one.
If voting by mail is the only option that works for you, do please use it. And if waiting for election day works for you that;s cool too. Just vote.
I think we should have a flat US Federal income tax of, say $750. No exceptions. Of course this would mean many billionaires and Fortune 500 companies would actually have to pay a couple of hundred bucks more. They’d all be screaming.
$750. If you ever wanted an example of how the system is rigged to screw the middle class this is it. Meanwhile, I’m waiting for these tax deductions to “trickle down” to me. Real Soon Now. #lootingofamerica
I think I’m running out of mystery novels to read. This scares me. The last few that I’ve tried just are not tripping my trigger. I like traditional mysteries the best, any suggestions?
Trick or Treat: All the towns around here are waiting to see what the other towns are going to do about Halloween. Nobody wants to be The Place that Banned ToT. So I’m holding off buying candy until I know. If it’s on I think I’ll just leave a bucket full of candy on the front stoop and stay away from the feeding frenzy.
I can’t believe we are seriously talking about abandoning the peaceful transfer of presidentiial power after the election. This is the USA, not some banana republic. This would have been unthinkable just a few years ago. Have we really sunk this low? We should be laughing at Trump.
Today’s Craving: Cornbread.
You know, way back when, you could buy toaster cornbread right next to frozen waffles. They were not very good but you could do it. Also I think I remember cornbread in those Pop n Fresh cans. I think they are gone too. That’s all I got.
Current Rabbit Hole: Reaction videos on Youtube. Reason: Bored. Rationalization: It’s interesting seeing, particularly, young people encounter older music they have never heard before for the first time. I’m watching them on a voyage of discovery. Some reactors are better than others.
One of my favorites: Sincerely, K. S. O.
Also, you can drain a laptop battery pretty fast watching these.
It’s been a year and I’m not renewing my subscription to The Correspondent. It was worth trying but it’s not for me. YMMV.
Apple needs to return the fingerprint reader to the iPhone. For myself, I turned off Face ID on my XR and I’m using the access code again to unlock. Face ID isn’t terrible in day to day use pre-Covid 19, but it fails when I’m wearing a mask and even when I’m not it often fails at the most annoying times. Using a pass code is a sure thing and less subject to abuse.
I would still use a pass code to unlock the phone even if it had a fingerprint reader, but I would use the fingerprint reader for ApplePay and Apple Store, etc.
I just updated to iOS 14. I’m told I can pick my default browser, something I never thought would happen. Now I really wish Vivaldi browser was available for iPhones. @vivaldibrowser
Predictions: If Trump is not reelected:
He will give himself a blanket Presidential pardon for anything and everything he’s ever done, just before he leaves office.
Shortly after leaving office, he’ll move to some foreign country that he thinks is friendly to him.
Once he’s out of office he’ll finally get himself banned on Twitter.
