Sunday morning and Micro.blog is hoping. Some facinating discussions going on. It is exciting to see some of the longest threads of conversation I have ever encountered on MB. However I’m finding some hard to follow but this is most likely me skipping around between timeline, mentions, conversations and then getting sidetracked on a link that looks shiney.
But the cool thing is there are actual, in depth conversations going on!
Another thought, I have followed more people and the timeline is moving quicker. I need to promote some MB folk that I follow to my RSS reader. I think a MB folder in needed. I’m not sure how that will work out if I find a post on the reader that I would like to comment on, but I can experiment with one or two first. Some, like manton and macgenie should probably remain both on the timeline but also on the RSS reader so I don’t miss important announcements and stuff.
Anyone doing the RSS reader thing with MB? How is that working out for you?

I think the best answer is to have them sign up for free trial or even 1 month and try it. Any of them can afford $5. I’ll walk them through MB step by step. I think that is the best way.
Micro.blog can be a Twitter replacement and do it much better, but I don’t see it as just a Twitter replacement because it is so much better and deeper than Twitter, at least in my mind. Mastodon is a good Twitter replacement. Micro.blog is evolving into a full Facebook replacement, although completely different. in design.
I think I’m going to add a page of free public domain Kindle ebooks I have enjoyed on Wordpress. I didn’t read them on Kindle but a Palm Pilot PDA, but everybody uses Kindle so that makes it accessible.
Good old “trial and error” if you and your website survive it, it gets the job done.
