After reading all the ugliness on your normal Twitter timeline you should be able to switch to an emergency timeline filled with nothing but cute cat pics, cute dog pics and unicorns farting glitter. So your brain can heal. Just saying.

I have a theory that #indieweb #webmentions like we see on Wordpress, help excite Googlebot. Webmentions, between blogs encourage longer, more frequesnt replies/comments to a post. Googlebot responds to that added activity and text. Sample is limited tho.

There was a thread here on Micro.blog a few weeks ago about having group authored and or family authored blogs. While I don’t have a use for it myself I thought that was a great idea.

For 2020 I intend to use an infinite scroll of blockchain in order to higgs boson my deep state pythagorean theorem of marketing speak to the enterprise.

It got cold outside here, so this is a good night for using the oven to bake a frozen pizza! Pizza is a food group.

Worth repeating: from the archives

As someone in his 6th decade, I’m warming to the idea that the older generations need to step aside politically, and let the younger generations run with the ball. I’m not comfortable with this. There are some issues where I and the younger set completely disagree.

However, I also think our country needs some shaking up - a windstorm of reform - perhaps even a tornado. I no longer think we Boomers are up to the challenges that lie ahead. We, the Boomers have become The Establishment that we derided and distrusted in our youth and as that we have become an impediment to change and hence, a part of the problem of a status quo stuck in malise and suckage. And change, real change, is needed.

I think we need to sweep a new generation into Congress, state houses, Governorships, county buildings. We need a broad base of new blood, youth, vigor and idealism in all those places. Youth, that has not yet learned to kowtow to corporate masters.

And yet, at this moment, I find I’m not quite ready to completely let go when it comes to electing a President. There are still capable men and women within the Boomer generation that have real life, national and professional experience I find still lacking in the younger candidates. Therefore, I find myself leaning towards two of the elder Presidential candidates - because experiance lets them see those shades of gray where youth only sees black and white. We need change, but not quite all at once.

Okay so which Generation was it that wore ultra baggy jeans with their bottom, half or all, sticking out?

I’m all for a Green New Deal, except I would break it up into a series of stand alone initiatives all working towards the common theme of the GND. We should not try to pass one huge monolithic law all in one pass. Rather we should break it up into chunks, each with a clearly identifiable purpose and goal so that The People know what they are getting with each bill.

This would be more like FDR’s original New Deal, which was a series of laws, not one huge bill.

Finally, in the US, we also need to encourage the individual States to come onboard any GND. States can do things the Feds can’t, like discourge needless suburban sprawl, encourage infill, prioritize maintaining existing roads rather than expanding or building new roads, expanding commuter transit, etc. States should be encouraged to take control of their own responsabilities and rewarded when they do. It can’t all be on the Federal Government.

I see a lot of the Democratic Presidential candidates proposing lots of well meaning Fed. laws. That’s fine, maybe we should try some things intended to make life better. But I would put a sunset clause on them so they have to be renewed by Congress in 10 years or so.

Because laws often have unintended consequences or loopholes and/or don’t work they way we wanted them to. So they need to be reexamined occasionally to see if they need to be amended, renewed or allowed to expire.

I watched the first, 2hr, episode of Lexx TV series. I’ve never seen it before and it was fun, quirky and weird. I remember it being very popular back when I was running a science fiction directory but no cable 4 me back then.

I just set up b2evolution CMS/blog(s) ver 6.11.4. It has the ability to send and receive Webmentions as per the Indieweb. This was discussed before but now I can confirm. I’m still wandering around the backend getting familier with it.
