Evil GOP and no-spine Dems: Democrats say they don’t oppose voter ID, but argue that GOP voting bill is too strict

I grew up during the Cold War and the US Gov’t used to run PSA’s telling us that citizens having to show their papers was what evil Communist’s in the USSR required because they were not free. The GOP has made up a lie about non-citizens voting in elections and their solution is to make every US citizen jump through hoops and pay a bunch of fees to vote. Voting is our right under The Constitution. Being able to move freely in our own country without an internal passport or “papers” is also our right.

First it was RealID, now even that is not enough, we have to have either a passport or some sort of super-duper ID in order to vote. This is government paranoia. This is a government terrified of their own citizens - terrified of democracy itself.

No taxation without representation: if we law abiding citizens are suddenly denied the right to vote we no longer have to pay taxes. That’s my opinion. Without the right to vote the Social Contract of The Enlightenment (look it up you slackers) is off.
