Testing Vivaldi Browser as a RSS Feed Reader

I’m experimenting with the RSS feed reader built into Vivaldi browser. It’s basic but it works.

Most of the time I use my social timelines (XTwitter, MicroBlog and Mastodon) as my feed reader but things are getting weird in socialland, and people I follow are disappearing. So my first priority is to get the feeds from my friends blogs who might disappear from social networks but who I really want to stay in contact with. Just in case.

So I grabbed a bunch of their RSS feeds and put them in Vivaldi as a test. So far so good. I’ll give it a few weeks and see how it’s working for me.

One thing I like is Vivaldi automatically finds the feeds on a website and displays a tiny feed symbol in the address bar. Click on that and select the feed you want to subscribe too. It’s nothing new but it makes it easy to add new feeds to the reader.
