Congress will decide to devote money to the coronavirus emergency in 2 - 3 weeks. This means we have Trump, Pence and McConnell in charge of a pandemic. These guys are the Moe, Larry and Curley of Washington. We’re doomed.
I have a pen and #2 pencil ready to fill out my census form whenever it arrives, so that town, county and state qualify for every dollar doled out by the Federal government. I’m still not clear why we sent our money all the way to the Feds so they can hand it back to us. Shouldn’t the states be doing this?
A peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a big mug of tea as a chaser, was a pretty good supper tonight.
I’m pumped, I got the conversation.js working with a little coaching from @manton. Thanks Manton! Spacing and such is not quite right but it is legible and it will do. Correcting it is a CSS thing and I don’t do CSS in general and specifically on MB. It will do. I also ditched my custom theme and went back to Marfa from Typewriter, cos Marfa has more bells and whistles like pagination and the other themes don’t.
Getting rid of custom themes means I no longer have replies via the third party IntenseDebate service but I think showing replies via webmention are more important for now. It is very nice to see the replies to my drivel right on the page. It makes me feel more Indieweb.
An emergency situation like the coronavirus outbreak shows the weakness of our “just in time” inventory practice. We no longer have vast warehouses of surgical masks, hand sanitizer or even toilet paper ready to roll when demand spikes.
I just got the Mimi Uploader app for my phone. This is just the ticket.
Now would be a real good time to manufacture N95 respirators (face masks) in the USA, from USA sourced componants, instead of off shoring production to, say, China. Just saying.
I just tried oatmilk for the first time. I may like it better than soymilk.
In case you missed it: the old Independent Web is still alive and kicking. #indieweb #discovery #independentweb
Coronavirus: 10 Italian Towns in Lockdown. Worse, the virus is in Iran, Lebanon and Egypt and I’m not sure those three countries can contain the spread.
I was craving ice cream the other day. But it is winter. It was 11 degrees F last night. Maybe ice cream is not such a good idea.
I’ve watched this act from Britain’s Got Talent 4 times now and I can’t get over the pure joyous, chaotic glory of it. I would describe it in more detail but I can’t find the words. It’s just amazing fun.
… And I’ve seen your flag on the marble arch
Love is not a victory march
It’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah

I just installed Gluon for Micro.blog on my iPhone and I really like the looks of it. There is also an Android version, which is so important for the majority of mobile users. Check it out.

I still wish browser spell check worked with the web version of Micro.blog.
The only thing I’ve succeeded in doing today is take a nap. Naps count, right?
