Has anyone been using Quill to long form post to Micro.blog and how is it working for you?

Over on my Wordpress blog I’m trying the plugin WP Dashboard Notes to keep reminders for myself.

So I took my own advice and added a guestbook to the blog here. As an experiment if nothing else. Interestingly the first gb host I signed with said my URL was not valid. Maybe the https?

I like phones with an audio jack. Wired ear buds are simple and cheap. If I forget them I can get some in any dollar store. I don’t have to charge them or wonder if they are charged.

What the #retroweb #yesterweb #indieweb revival needs is a modern webring host. One with the tools on the backend for ringmasters to manage the webrings and minimalist ring codes. Cos when you get 200+ members in a ring management becomes a lot of work.

Dang. Long form blogging requires all this typing, spelling, grammar and shit.

Surfing the Web Files: Over the last couple of days I’ve surfed on a couple of webrings and had great fun. #retroweb #yesterweb

It’s amazing how much of the Web 1.0 infrastructure has fallen into ruin or disappeared. Directories, webring hosts, remotely hosted things like guestbooks for static websites, free static web hosts, almost all gone.

Bread with lots of seeds in it seems to be the new “big thing.” I am officially neutral on this but I’m waiting to see when the GOP and the DNC will pick sides and completely polarise seedy bread. As they do.

I checked website traffic stats and was pleased to see my first referrer of the day came from privacy search engine Mojeek.com. I actually get quite a bit of traffic from them so it’s not unusual.

I just had Sweet Potato chips for the first time ever and they were really good. Will buy again. These were “Simply Nature” which is an Aldi house brand. I hope Aldi keeps them in stock.

Traffic Circles (in America) are a conspiracy against our freedom to run stop signs. Just sayin.

Subscription Fatigue: Every damn software program, app, service, newsletter, news site and streaming thingy, wants a monthly subscription instead of one time payment. Sorry but there are limits and I think users are hitting those limits. I am.

I watched the RAF flypast for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Big Jet TV. It was a grand good job. Impressive. I enjoyed every minute. Brit’s sure know how to put on a good show. The actual flypast starts at about 47 min.

Random: Mexican re-fried beans are far better than any crypto-currency.
