Currently in beta. I literally found out about this 15 minutes ago so I have not had time to really look it over. Based in Denmark, Findex is an open source fork of Gigablast. Hopefully they will improve on Gigablast’s algo. Good news on the decentralized search front!
I’m starting to think the EU’s nasty attitude towards UK leaving is mostly fear combined with a bit of miff. The EU is afraid. Britain was the stabilizer for the EU, the big nation-state with massive democratic political legitimacy and insulated from continental tribal history.

This could be huge not just for other search engines but also browser developers, email providers, maps, etc. Google monopoly has in effect smothered all competition on these fronts. Nobody can gain any traction. It’s time.
